Integrated Pest Management (IMP)

What do we mean by this?

 

We pride ourselves in following Integrated Pest Management, (IPM).

 

IPM is an approach to pest control that focuses on sustainable and environmentally friendly methods to manage pests effectively while minimising risks to human health and the surrounding ecosystem.

IPM involves the integration of various pest management techniques to achieve long-term pest control with reduced reliance on chemical pesticides.

IPM programmes use current, comprehensive information on the life cycles of pests and their interaction with the environment.

 

Treatment With IPM

The initial risk assessment/treatment plan we work through the following, in order:

 

NON-CHEMICAL, NON- LETHAL METHODS

CAN WE USE PROOFING WORK-REMOVING HARBOURAGE – HYGIENE TO CONTROL THE INFESTATION?

NON-CHEMICAL, LETHAL

CAN WE USE A TRAPPING SYSTEM?

ALTERNATIVES
IS THEIR ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE BEFORE USING CHEMICALS?

SUBSTITUTION BASED ON RISK OR TOXICITY
THEN IF THE ABOVE METHODS ARE NOT SUITABLE, WE WILL CHOOSE A METHOD THAT WILL BE SPECIFIC TO THE INDIVIDUAL SITE OF TREATMENT.

We understand in many situations in which rodents present a risk of harm to humans and animals, there is a statutory responsibility for their removal. Therefore, we will decide the suitability of measures selected to achieve the results required to reduce or remove rodents. At LoP we use chemicals responsibly and safely.
